Day & Night Sounds 🌞🌙

Let's make a forest that turns from day to night. 🌳

Backdrops

The backdrop is the picture behind everything on the stage. You can switch it with a Looks block:

when flag clicked
switch backdrop to [Forest v]
wait (3) seconds
switch backdrop to [Night City v]

(Use any two backdrops you like, maybe paint a dark one yourself!)

Sounds

Sound blocks are pink:

when flag clicked
wait (3) seconds
play sound (Owl v) until done
say [Hoo hoo! I wake up at night.] for (2) seconds

• play sound until done waits for the sound to finish.
• start sound plays it and moves on straight away.

🧠 To add a sound, click the Sounds tab, then the 🔊 button at the bottom.

🛠️ Build it!

1. Pick a forest backdrop and a dark one.
2. Add the Owl sprite. On the Sounds tab, add an owl sound.
3. Build the backdrop script on the Stage (click the stage on the right), and the owl script on the owl.
4. Click the 🟢 flag. Day... then night... HOO!

⭐ Bonus: use hide and show blocks so the owl only appears at night.

🦉 Fun fact

Owls are nocturnal: they sleep in the day and hunt at night. Their big eyes help them see in the dark!
